About the Role

Studio Saffron is seeking a 2D Art Intern who is passionate about 2D asset creation, animation, and visual effects for games. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring artists who want to gain hands-on experience in a game development environment while expanding their skills in animation and simple VFX.

As an intern, you'll work closely with our art and design team, helping to create high-quality assets for both in-game content and promotional materials. If you’re a creative thinker who enjoys experimenting with animation, UI art, and VFX, we’d love to hear from you!

What Success Looks Like in This Role:

✔️ You create polished, game-ready 2D assets that align with the project’s visual style.

✔️ You demonstrate improvement in animation skills, contributing to engaging character and UI animations.

✔️ You successfully collaborate with senior artists, taking feedback and refining your work.

✔️ You experiment with 2D VFX techniques, adding visual flair to game assets.

✔️ You develop an understanding of optimization techniques, ensuring assets run smoothly in-game.

Responsibilities:

🎨 Design and refine 2D game assets (characters, props, UI elements, and environments).

🎭 Prepare layered assets for animation and UI motion graphics.

🎞️ Work on simple 2D animations (idle loops, movement cycles, UI effects).

💡 Experiment with sprite-based VFX (glows, particles, effects).

🤝 Collaborate with the lead artist and game designers to ensure art consistency.

📢 Assist in creating marketing visuals (promo art, banners, social media assets).

Qualifications:

✅ Based in Karachi, Pakistan (onsite role).

✅ Currently studying or recently graduated in Art, Animation, Game Design, or related fields.

✅ Proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator for asset creation.

✅ Basic experience with animation tools (Spine, After Effects, Unity 2D Animation, DragonBones).

✅ Interest in game UI art, animation, and VFX experimentation.

✅ Strong adaptability and willingness to learn from feedback.

Internship Details:

• Duration: 3-6 months
• Stipend: PKR 15,000 - 30,000 (full-time, based on skills)
• Potential for Full-Time Role: High-performing interns may be considered for a Junior 2D Artist position.
• Working Arrangement: On-site at Nishat Commercial, DHA Phase 6, Karachi
