Job Description

Shekhani Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Officer to join its finance team. The successful candidate will have at least four years of experience handling various accounting tasks, with a strong focus on accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliation, and taxation. This role requires proficiency in Excel and a thorough understanding of audit compliance processes. Familiarity with textile manufacturing accounting practices is preferred, supporting accurate financial reporting and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The Accounts Officer works independently, managing their workload without supervising other staff members, and contributes to the financial integrity of Shekhani Industries through meticulous recordkeeping and transaction processing. The position entails maintaining accurate financial records and preparing reports that reflect the company's financial status. The individual will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes efficiently to ensure timely payments, reconciling financial discrepancies, and liaising with auditors during compliance reviews. Effective communication skills and a methodical approach to tasks are essential to meet the organizations financial objectives. The candidate must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safeguarding company assets, while continuously improving accounting procedures in a dynamic industrial environment.
Responsibilities
 

  • Manage and process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger with precision to reflect all financial activities accurately.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify and balance bank statements with company records.
  • Prepare and manage taxation documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Use Excel and other accounting software tools to support financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Assist in audit preparations by organizing financial documents and ensuring adherence to audit compliance standards.
  • Monitor and control company expenses to maintain budgetary discipline aligned with organizational policies.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial statements and transactions through thorough investigation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather information required for financial reporting and taxation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes and internal controls to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Ensure all financial operations comply with legal and company policy requirements specific to the textile manufacturing sector.
