We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team and help maintain accurate financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record daily financial transactions and complete postings within Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
- Post invoice batches in the sales module, ensuring proper deferral of invoices.
- Review accounts receivable (AR) aging reports and reconcile AR-related accounts such as Accounts Receivable and Deferred Revenue.
- Prepare customer invoices, coordinate with customers to verify accuracy, and assist in the collection of outstanding payments.
- Manage documentation related to customers and vendors, including contracts and purchase orders.
- Collaborate with the sales tax team to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist in preparing and reconciling internal monthly financial statements.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations, prepare necessary adjustments, and conduct variance analyses.
- Reconcile accounts payable (AP) and AR subledgers to the general ledger.
- Update monthly accruals and prepaid expense schedules.
- Prepare journal entries for month-end closing processes.
- Process accounts payable by reviewing and coding invoices before posting them into GP.
- Identify and communicate intercompany discrepancies to the local accounting team.
- Support monthly revenue variance analysis and provide commentary.
- Undertake special projects and deliver ad hoc financial analyses as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, and manage financial records.
- Proficient data entry skills with a strong aptitude for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software.
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Finalist or part-qualified professional accounting certification (ACCA, ICAP, or equivalent) or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
