Hamdard Hospital is seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager, IT to join our team and contribute to managing and enhancing our IT infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field, and strong expertise in networking and security firewalls. This role specifically values experience within the hospital industry, ensuring familiarity with the unique IT challenges and requirements in healthcare settings. The Assistant Manager leads a team of two IT professionals and works collaboratively to oversee project implementation, incident management, vendor coordination, and network security operations, ensuring our IT environment supports our organizational goals efficiently and securely.

The successful candidate demonstrates proficiency in project management methodologies including the Scrum framework and ITIL practices. They manage and optimize IT service delivery, provide robust application support, and maintain network security systems. This role involves coordinating vendors, handling cybersecurity fundamentals, and utilizing project management software such as Microsoft Project. The Assistant Manager plays a critical role in incident response, ensuring effective resolution to minimize downtime and support hospital operations. Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor team members are essential, alongside a deep understanding of Cisco networking technologies and firewall management within complex environments.

Responsibilities

 

• Lead and manage a team IT professionals, providing guidance, performance oversight, and professional development opportunities.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee IT projects from initiation through completion using project management tools and methodologies such as Microsoft Project and Scrum framework.
• Manage IT service delivery, ensuring adherence to ITIL frameworks to improve service quality, manage incidents, and minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely acquisition, installation, and maintenance of software and hardware assets.
• Implement and monitor network security protocols including firewall configuration and management to protect hospital data and IT infrastructure.
• Provide leadership in incident management to ensure rapid identification, escalation, and resolution of IT issues impacting hospital operations.
• Conduct regular network assessments and maintain strong networking practices, particularly with Cisco technologies, to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement fundamental safeguards and respond to emerging threats.
• Support the deployment and ongoing maintenance of hospital applications, ensuring optimal performance and user support across clinical and administrative systems.
• Monitor and report on IT service performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management to support decision-making and continuous improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to IT operations within the healthcare environment.
• Foster a collaborative teamwork culture and maintain effective communication between IT staff, vendors, and hospital stakeholders.
