Backend Developer

We are looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Mid-Level Backend Developer to join our engineering team remotely from Karachi. This full-time role requires working night shifts from 6:30 PM to 3:30 AM. The successful candidate will have over three years of professional, on-site backend development experience and a solid grasp of programming fundamentals, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This position involves contributing to a highly confidential technology project, with specialized training provided on proprietary platforms and enterprise-grade software systems. Candidates should have completed their formal education and be prepared for a career transition, as the technology stack will differ from their previous experience. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, strict confidentiality is mandatory, and the use of external AI coding tools is strictly prohibited.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using clean, efficient, and maintainable object-oriented code.
- Analyze technical requirements and convert them into scalable and secure backend solutions.
- Debug, optimize, and enhance application performance to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with technical leads and fellow developers to ensure timely and high-quality software delivery.
- Learn and adapt to proprietary enterprise technologies and internal platforms.
- Maintain strict adherence to security, confidentiality, and quality protocols throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, fully completed before joining. Candidates currently pursuing Master’s or PhD programs are not eligible.
- Minimum of three years of professional, on-site backend development experience; remote-only experience will not be considered.
- Strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python (Django preferred), Java, C#, C++, Kotlin, or similar.
- Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures and algorithms, SQL and relational databases, REST APIs, version control systems (Git), software design principles, and debugging methods.
- Ability to work independently without reliance on AI-assisted coding tools; the use of external AI or Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar is strictly forbidden.
