Branch Manager – Trade Banking

Agay Barho is seeking a seasoned Branch Manager specializing in trade banking to lead branch operations and foster business growth. This role demands extensive expertise in trade finance, regulatory compliance, and client relationship management within the trade sector. The ideal candidate will leverage their established client network and comprehensive knowledge of import/export banking products to expand the branchs commercial banking services. Although this position does not include team management responsibilities, it requires strong coordination with various internal departments to ensure operational excellence and compliance with banking policies. The Branch Manager will drive business development initiatives aimed at increasing deposit mobilization and portfolio growth. Success in this role depends on the ability to maintain high standards of customer service, manage complex trade finance transactions, and achieve revenue targets. The candidate must possess at least three years of experience in a similar banking leadership role, accompanied by a deep understanding of trade finance instruments such as letters of credit, bank guarantees, and import/export financing. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills are paramount to cultivate lasting relationships with trade clients, importers, exporters, manufacturers, and commercial businesses.
Responsibilities
 

• Manage daily branch operations to ensure efficient and compliant functioning.
• Develop and expand the branchs trade and commercial banking business through strategic outreach and relationship-building.
• Build and sustain robust relationships with trade clients including importers, exporters, and manufacturers.
• Drive deposit mobilization and portfolio growth aligned with branch business targets.
• Promote trade banking products such as trade finance, letters of credit, bank guarantees, and import/export financing.
• Utilize existing networks and customer base to identify and generate new business opportunities.
• Ensure high-quality customer service and manage key client relationships to foster loyalty and satisfaction.
• Monitor branch performance metrics, operational efficiency, and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate smooth processing of trade-related banking transactions.
• Maintain thorough awareness of trade finance documentation requirements and compliance procedures.
• Assess and manage risks inherent in trade banking operations using risk management software and methodologies.
• Negotiate and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Analyze market trends within the trade sector to adapt and innovate branch offerings effectively.
