Computer Science & Web Development Teacher

Friends Educational & Medical Trust is looking for a passionate and experienced Computer Science & Web Development Teacher to join our educational program in Karachi.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The teacher will be responsible for teaching

• Computer Programming Fundamentals – Class 11

• Full-Stack Web Development – Class 12

The program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning and practical technology skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach programming fundamentals using Python, Raspberry Pi, and Unix/Linux commands.

• Guide students through sensor-based projects and interactive coding activities.

• Teach full-stack web development using React, FastAPI/Django OR Node.js/Express, and PostgreSQL.

• Introduce students to AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and OpenAI APIs.

• Mentor students in developing a final project integrating web, mobile, and AI components.

• Collaborate with arts/music departments to create engaging learning experiences.

• Conduct assessments, provide feedback, and mentor students.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at Matric/Intermediate level in programming, web development, or related subjects. Industry experience is a plus.

• Fluent English proficiency, both spoken and written, with the ability to teach in English.

• Passion for teaching and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to engage students through hands-on and project-based learning.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Candidates should have strong knowledge of:

• Python & Linux/Unix

• Git & Version Control

• API Integration

• HTML, CSS & JavaScript

• React

• FastAPI/Django OR Node.js/Express

• PostgreSQL

• Python-based medium-level problem solving / LeetCode ability

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE

Experience with AI-assisted coding, IoT, Raspberry Pi, sensor-based computing, embedded systems, Arduino robotics, or creative technologies will be an advantage.
