DevOps Engineer

Horizon Tech is looking for a seasoned Senior DevOps Engineer to support a healthcare client based in Canada. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure, automation, and security, capable of managing and optimizing complex cloud environments to ensure efficiency, compliance, and robust security. This role requires deploying product updates, troubleshooting production issues, and integrating systems to meet customer requirements. A strong software engineering foundation and proficiency in Python or similar programming languages are essential. The successful candidate will work closely with developers to maintain software development standards and functionality. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage AWS Cloud infrastructure to guarantee high availability and resilience.
- Develop and maintain load-balancing strategies to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Ensure cloud security and compliance by following industry standards and best practices.
- Integrate communication platforms such as Twilio and SendGrid into existing systems.
- Set up local development environments to improve developer workflows.
- Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with development teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, streamlining software delivery.
- Deploy product updates and fixes while providing Level 2 technical support when necessary.
- Develop backup strategies and generate detailed incident reports to maintain system resilience.
- Participate in corporate security initiatives, including email security, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and basic Security Operations Center (SOC) activities.
- Monitor system health using AWS CloudWatch dashboards and other monitoring tools.

Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience managing AWS Cloud infrastructure and load balancing.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security protocols and compliance standards.
- Proficiency with communication technologies, specifically Twilio and SendGrid.
- Experience in setting up and managing local development environments.
- Expertise in infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, JIRA, and Sentry.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Basic understanding of information security concepts, including EDR and email security.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of Linux web servers like Nginx and Apache.

Job Details:
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Karachi, Pakistan. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM to align with the client’s time zone in Canada. The salary range for this role is between Rs200,000 and Rs250,000 per month. A bachelor’s degree is required for consideration. Candidates should be ready to confirm their availability for the evening/night shift and provide their expected salary during the application process.
