Oceanic Group of Companies is seeking a qualified and motivated Engineer – Insurance Brokerage to join their growing team in Karachi. This role involves acting as a technical advisor and risk analyst, providing expert support for insurance placements and evaluations. The primary focus will be on clients operating within the engineering, construction, energy, and industrial sectors. Based in DHA Phase 5, Karachi, this position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with clients and insurance brokers, ensuring precise risk assessment and thorough technical analysis.
Key Responsibilities
As an Engineer – Insurance Brokerage, you will be responsible for conducting detailed technical evaluations to support insurance underwriting. This includes assessing project risks and accurately valuing assets to inform insurance decisions. You will work hand-in-hand with insurance brokers to prepare client presentations, submissions, and comprehensive technical reports that clearly communicate risk profiles and project specifics.
A critical part of your role will involve reviewing engineering and construction documentation related to insured assets such as infrastructure, machinery, and industrial plants. You will liaise directly with clients to collect essential technical data and clarify project specifications, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
Additionally, you will assist in loss prevention assessments by identifying potential risks and recommending effective mitigation strategies. Your expertise will also be called upon to support claims assessment by providing technical input when necessary, helping to resolve claims efficiently and fairly.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering—preferably Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or an equivalent discipline—from a recognized university. A minimum of three years of professional experience in engineering-related roles is essential to succeed in this position.
Strong analytical skills are required to interpret complex technical information accurately. Excellent communication abilities are also necessary to effectively interact with clients, brokers, and internal teams, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of information.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Previous experience in insurance, risk management, or technical advisory roles is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage. This full-time position offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs175,000 to Rs200,000.
The role requires in-person attendance at the Karachi office located in DHA Phase 5, providing an engaging work environment where you can directly collaborate with key stakeholders.
