Fashion Designer

Dhaga is seeking a creative and trend-savvy Fashion Designer with a deep understanding of Gen Z fashion, contemporary eastern wear, and commercially viable design. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for modern cuts, flattering silhouettes, styling, color combinations, and embroidery development. This role requires someone who can translate current trends into original, wearable designs that embody the distinctive Dhaga aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities
- Design contemporary eastern wear including co-ords, kurtas, kaftans, and occasion wear.
- Develop fresh cuts, silhouettes, and styling concepts tailored to Gen Z preferences.
- Conduct research on both local and international fashion trends to stay ahead of the curve.
- Create mood boards, sketches, and comprehensive collection concepts that align with brand vision.
- Design embroidery layouts, motifs, placements, and select appropriate color combinations.
- Choose suitable fabrics, trims, embellishments, and finishing details to enhance garment appeal.
- Collaborate closely with pattern makers, sampling teams, embroidery specialists, and production units to ensure design accuracy and quality.
- Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to cuts, lengths, and garment proportions for optimal fit.
- Style complete looks for campaigns, photoshoots, and product launches to showcase collections effectively.
- Balance creativity with wearability, pricing considerations, and commercial demand to maximize market success.
- Analyze customer preferences and contribute to the development of potential bestsellers.
- Maintain and strengthen Dhaga’s brand identity while introducing fresh, innovative ideas in every collection.

Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Gen Z fashion trends and contemporary Pakistani eastern wear.
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction, cuts, fabrics, and fitting techniques.
- Practical experience with embroidery techniques, including motif design and placement.
- Proficient fashion illustration and technical drawing skills to communicate design ideas clearly.
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for digital design and presentation.
- Keen awareness of color theory, styling, and seasonal fashion trends.
- Ability to manage multiple samples simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- A strong portfolio showcasing original and trend-relevant designs is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
- Previous experience working with a women’s fashion brand is highly preferred.
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Shareah e Faisal, Karachi.
