Overview:

TransPerfect is seeking a freelance Subject Matter Expert (SME) in robotics or automated systems to support our content design team. Your role will be to review and validate the technical accuracy and plausibility of materials for an English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course titled English for Robotics. This is not a technical training course but a language development course that uses workplace robotics contexts to teach English.

Responsibilities:

• Review course content to ensure all references to robotics, automation, and related workplace processes are technically accurate and coherent.
• Evaluate a variety of materials, including:
• Audio: Expert discussions, explanatory dialogues
• Written texts: Technical descriptions, simplified explanations, workplace scenarios
• Visuals: Diagrams, infographics, labeled illustrations
• E-learning activities: Multiple-choice questions, gap fills, matching tasks
• Suggest improvements to enhance clarity, realism, and industry relevance.
• Help the team explain robotics-related concepts in accessible, learner-friendly language.

Qualifications:

• Strong background in robotics, automation systems, or industrial robotics.
• Familiarity with workplace applications of robotics (manufacturing, logistics, maintenance, etc.).
• Ability to explain complex technical content clearly to non-specialist audiences.
• Prior experience in education, course development, or training (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills in English.
