GM Plant Operations

Position Overview

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing plant & its employees. Duties include planning production schedules, identifying productivity goals, and monitoring processes to ensure efficiency and compliance in the manufacturing process. Develops strategies that make certain the production goals are met at a minimal cost. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for the employees. Has strong leadership qualities, gives clear directions, thinks productivity, and has a high degree of accountability.

Education

• Bachelors/Masters in Engineering in Chemical or Mechanical

Experience

• At least 20 years in a processing plant preferably in industries like oil refining, Chemical, Cement industries
• At least 10 years experience at managerial level

Core Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, directing, and running optimum day-to-day operations.
• Managing production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards.
• Ensuring production output, product quality, and on time shipping.
• Allocating resources effectively.
• Creating & managing budgets.
• Utilizing assets to produce optimal results.
• Collecting & analyzing data to find areas of waste and overtime.
• Creating reports to present to management regarding processes.
• Committing to plant safety procedures
• Developing systems & processes that track and optimize productivity.
• Monitoring operations, initiating and driving corrective actions when needed.
• Overseeing work schedules to ensure coverage.
• Providing a clear sense of direction and focus to team members.
• Building a trusting relationship with workers.
• Addressing employees issues or grievances in consultation with HR department and as per company policies.
• Hiring employees in consultation of HR department and as per company policies.
• Managing and developing plant employees.
