Head of Compliance

About the job

OneQode is expanding from telecommunications and cloud infrastructure into large-scale GPU and AI-compute services, and needs a Head of Compliance who can turn specialist advice into a live, working programme.

This is a hands-on compliance leadership role covering US export controls and sanctions as they apply to GPU procurement, cloud and hosted-compute services, and data-centre deployments across APAC.

You'll work with internal Legal and specialist external counsel to build and run the programme, converting advice into controls that Sales, Commercial, Procurement, Infrastructure, Finance and Legal actually use, owning it day to day rather than leaving it with external advisers.

What you'll do

• Own customer, transaction and restricted-party diligence, including screening, red-flag resolution and evidence
• Apply US export control requirements to hardware, reexports, transfers and cloud or hosted access
• Coordinate compliance information and assurances with semiconductor manufacturers, hardware vendors and other suppliers
• Work with Infrastructure and Security on chain-of-custody and diversion controls
• Lead compliance on live transactions, plus contract, training and incident-response work
• Advise the CEO and CSOO directly on material risks and decisions, contributing to board reporting as required

You may be a fit if

• You have 5+ years of hands-on US export control and sanctions experience in APAC (exceptional candidates with 3–4 years will also be considered)
• You've owned real compliance decisions, investigations and controls, not just policy or awareness
• You understand the GPU and hardware supply chain, cloud access, and data-centre custody
• You're confident presenting to founders, a CEO, executives, investors and a board
• You're collaborative and proactive, with sound commercial judgment and the confidence to raise concerns constructively with senior leadership
• A law degree is preferred but not essential: relevant practical compliance experience and the ability to own the function matter more
• A background at a semiconductor manufacturer, hyperscaler, data centre operator or AI infrastructure business is highly relevant
