Job Description

Avanza Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Java Architect to head its engineering department in Karachi. This role requires a seasoned professional with 10 to 15 years of experience specializing in Java technologies, particularly with expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architectures. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge in software design, system architecture, and fintech or payment systems. They will lead a team of 20 engineers, guiding technical strategy, fostering team performance, and ensuring software solutions meet high-quality standards within a dynamic enterprise environment. The Lead Java Architect plays a critical role in shaping the technical direction of the organization by designing scalable, efficient, and secure software architectures. The position demands strong leadership and mentorship abilities, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Avanza Unison. This leader will collaborate cross-functionally to align development efforts with business objectives, driving innovation and technical excellence across all projects.
Responsibilities
 

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust Java-based architectures, focusing on Spring Boot and Microservices to support fintech and payment systems.
• Manage and mentor a team of 20 software engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high team performance.
• Define and drive the technical strategy, aligning architectural choices with business goals and industry best practices.
• Oversee end-to-end software architecture and system design processes, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development plans.
• Promote agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to accelerate delivery cycles.
• Provide hands-on support when necessary, actively participating in code reviews, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical challenges.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve architecture, enhance system capabilities, and maintain competitive advantage.
• Ensure compliance with software development standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements relevant to fintech and payment domains.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
• Coordinate with CRM system teams to integrate customer relationship management tools like Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 effectively.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with cross-functional teams including product management, quality assurance, and operations.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues early, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery of software solutions.
