We are looking for a committed pharmacist to join our healthcare team, ensuring the safe and precise dispensing of medications. The successful candidate will carefully review prescriptions for correct dosage, potential drug interactions, and overall validity. They will maintain detailed records and provide valuable drug-related information to medical staff. This role involves active collaboration during patient care, including participation in medical rounds, with a strong focus on promoting rational and effective drug therapy.
Key Responsibilities
- Review written prescriptions to confirm appropriate dosage, check for drug interactions, and ensure proper dispensing.
- Evaluate prescriptions issued by physicians or authorized prescribers for accuracy and validity.
- Maintain thorough prescription records and accurately calculate prescription charges.
- Monitor medication expiry dates to guarantee patient safety.
- Provide healthcare professionals with information regarding drug availability, proper usage, potential drug-to-drug interactions, and possible adverse effects.
- Participate in medical rounds as needed to collect medication histories and support decisions related to rational drug therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in a teaching hospital setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in the pharmacy field.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Urdu.
- Solid understanding of outpatient and inpatient pharmacy operations.
