Pharmacy Assistant

Job Description

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist while following established protocols and safety standards.
• Manage inventory by monitoring medication stock levels, conducting regular stock checks, and ensuring timely replenishment to avoid shortages.
• Maintain electronic health records by entering patient data, prescription details, and medication dispensation information accurately and confidentially.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients with medication-related inquiries, clarifying usage instructions, and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area to meet hygiene and safety requirements.
• Support compliance efforts by adhering to hospital policies, legal regulations, and professional standards related to pharmacy operations.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and suppliers to coordinate medication orders, deliveries, and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Perform routine data entry tasks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all patient and medication-related information.
• Monitor expiration dates and remove outdated or damaged medications from inventory to maintain safety and efficacy standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and development activities to stay informed about new medications, pharmacy technologies, and best practices.
