A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Lead Primary Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the primary engineering design of High Voltage (HV) substations, ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle. You will develop key design deliverables, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and work closely with project execution teams and customers to deliver reliable, high-quality engineering solutions.

Your role will combine technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and customer interaction to support successful project execution while contributing to the development of modern power infrastructure.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Lead the primary engineering design of High Voltage (HV) substations for transmission and distribution projects
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Layouts, Equipment Layouts, Earthing Designs, Lightning Protection layouts, Cable Engineering designs, and Control Interface Diagrams (CIDs)
• Prepare material estimations and Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for primary equipment and associated systems
• Review civil engineering and steel structure drawings to ensure compliance with design requirements
• Conduct site visits to support engineering activities, validate design assumptions, and resolve technical issues
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to collect technical inputs and ensure design consistency
• Work closely with Project Execution teams throughout project implementation
• Interface with customers to support technical discussions, design reviews, and approval processes
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Primary Design Engineering for High Voltage substations
• Strong experience in substation primary design, including equipment layouts, earthing systems, lightning protection, cable engineering, and SLD preparation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and project execution teams
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution engineering standards and best practices
• Experience interacting directly with customers during design approval processes
• Strong command of written and spoken English
