Job Description: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Employment Type: Full-Time, On-site

Job Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, budgeting, and commercial control for civil and interior fit-out works, ensuring effective cost planning, billing, and contract administration from tender stage to final accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and quantity take-offs for civil and ID fit-out works.

Develop rate analysis for materials, labor, and specialized finishes.

Prepare and verify IPCs, running bills, variations, and final accounts.

Support tendering, procurement, and subcontractor evaluations.

Coordinate with design, ID, MEP, site, and procurement teams.

Monitor costs, assess design changes, and prepare monthly cost reports.

Ensure compliance with contract requirements and maintain commercial records.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.

6 to 8 years of experience in civil and interior fit-out projects.

Experience in commercial, residential, or hospitality projects preferred.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of civil works and interior fit-out materials.

Proficiency in BOQs, quantity take-offs, AutoCAD, total station, and MS Excel.

Familiarity with FIDIC or standard construction contracts.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple packages under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

Experience with turnkey and fast-track projects.

Knowledge of MEP coordination in fit-out works.

Exposure to GCC or regional construction practices.

Experience:

• 6 to 8 years of experience in quantity surveying or a related construction role.

Work Environment:

• Combination of office-based and site-based work.
• May require visits to construction sites as per project requirements.
