The Legal Aid Society (LAS) is a nonprofit organization established in 2013, with the mission of providing access to justice for marginalized and underprivileged communities in Pakistan. Founded by Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid, LAS is committed to connecting vulnerable individuals with effective and timely justice services, while promoting equity, fairness, and inclusion. LAS operates through a dual approach—providing legal representation on an individual basis and pursuing systemic change through legal empowerment. With over seven years of experience, LAS serves 13 judicial districts in Sindh, including operations from its Karachi headquarters and six district offices, and has achieved national and international recognition in the fields of law, justice, and development.
 

Role Description

This is a contract-based, on-site role located in Karachi for a Senior Delivery Associate – Research. The responsibilities include conducting in-depth research, analyzing legal frameworks and policies, and preparing detailed reports to support access to justice initiatives. The individual will collaborate with various teams to develop evidence-based recommendations, design innovative solutions for justice accessibility, and evaluate existing programs. Additional responsibilities include collecting qualitative and quantitative data, and presenting findings to stakeholders. Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines are key to excelling in this role.
 

Qualifications

• Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
• Proficiency in legal frameworks, policy development, and the ability to analyze and interpret complex legal documents.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to justice sector reform, equity, and inclusion principles.
• Relevant educational qualifications in Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field. A postgraduate degree is preferred.
• Prior work experience in research, policy analysis, or legal aid will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with research tools and software.
• Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.
