Senior Drafter CNR

Al Ghurair is seeking an experienced Senior Drafter CNR to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of five years of specialized experience in drafting Control and Relay (CNR) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical drawings. This role requires strong proficiency with AUTOCAD software and a solid understanding of electrical design tools such as Elecdes. The successful candidate will confidently create detailed general arrangements and design drawings for control protection panels operating at 33kV and 132kV voltage levels while adhering to customer input and industry standards. The Senior Drafter CNR supports the design phase by translating technical requirements into accurate engineering documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams. This role does not include team management responsibilities but demands excellent individual technical expertise in electrical drafting. The position plays a critical role in ensuring timely delivery of high-quality layouts that meet project specifications and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
 

• Prepare and develop comprehensive engineering drawings including General Arrangement (GA), Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and schematic diagrams based on design inputs and project requirements.
• Create detailed design documents for control protection panels at 33kV and 132kV voltage levels using AUTOCAD and electrical design software such as Elecdes.
• Interpret and analyze relay wiring diagrams from various OEMs including Siemens, Hitachi, ABB, SEL, and GE to support design accuracy.
• Generate and maintain wiring schedules, equipment details, power diagrams, schematic diagrams, cutouts, and template drawings ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Develop and update databases, catalogues, GA symbols, and scheme blocks to streamline drawing processes and improve drafting efficiency.
• Produce as-manufactured and as-built drawings, maintaining accuracy and ensuring documentation reflects the final product specifications.
• Review switchgear and Local Control Cubicle (LCC) drawings to confirm compatibility and integration within electrical systems.
• Deliver high-quality drawing outputs within project timelines to facilitate smooth project execution and communication across engineering teams.
• Utilize AutoCAD 2D primarily, with knowledge of 3D CAD and other electrical design software as an added advantage, to enhance drafting precision.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to incorporate customer inputs into the detailed design ensuring all technical requirements are met.
• Maintain technical knowledge by staying updated on electrical design standards, software advancements, and industry best practices.
