Job Title: Senior Manager - Database Administration

Job Overview:

To ensure the smooth functioning, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's database systems. The role encompasses database administration, security, performance tuning, and ensuring data integrity to support critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems.
• Perform regular database backups, disaster recovery drills, and data restoration.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning and indexing.
• Implement and enforce database security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
• Collaborate with developers to support application performance and scalability.
• Monitor and maintain database capacity planning and storage management.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
• Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses

Experience Required:

• 4-6 years of experience in database administration, with 4+ years in a managerial role.

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
• Strong knowledge of database security, backup, DR, performance monitoring & recovery solutions.
• Hands-on experience with high-availability solutions and clustering.
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and database lifecycle management.
