Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain Kafka clusters and their ecosystems to ensure high service resilience, reliability, and scalability. This role accelerates deployments that enhance products used by millions daily. Lead the development and operation of storage clusters and ecosystems on AWS, overseeing the system lifecycle from design through deployment. Develop support tools and technical processes that streamline engineering workflows across multiple services. Identify opportunities to automate and scale systems while upholding security and reliability standards. Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to refining incident response procedures to minimize downtime and improve system stability.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing, operating, and troubleshooting storage clusters or other highly available systems at scale is essential. Proven expertise in running Kafka within Kubernetes environments is required. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, Groovy, Scala, or Ruby is expected. A strong background in cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, is necessary. Experience with infrastructure automation following Infrastructure as Code principles is important. Solid Unix/Linux skills, including networking and scripting, are required. Experience in incident response and incident management is considered advantageous.
