BackTech, a prominent provider of back-end and virtual assistance services for a distinguished US-based clientele, is expanding its operations in Karachi and seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join its team. This role offers accounting professionals the chance to work in an international setting, supporting a US client known for stringent financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to US GAAP and IFRS standards. The position requires working during US business hours, from 7:30 PM to 4:30 AM, five days a week, and mandates in-person attendance at the Karachi office.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including the preparation of financial statements, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable ledgers promptly, adhering to established accounting protocols.
- Perform detailed data entry and financial analysis using advanced software to maintain accurate records and generate insightful reports.
- Stay updated with US regulatory standards such as GAAP and IFRS to ensure full compliance in all financial documentation and processes.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for senior management, highlighting key insights and variances.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships by verifying invoice details and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with US-based clients and team members to ensure clear understanding of financial information and compliance with standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to US-based firms.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Fluent English communication skills for effective interaction with international clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Candidates who are CA or ACCA finalists will be given preference.
- Experience working in a BPO industry, audit firm, or multinational company, demonstrating versatility across various accounting frameworks.
- Knowledge of Zoho Books is considered an advantage.
- Monthly salary ranging from PKR 80,000 to PKR 120,000.
