The Vendor Performance Manager plays a pivotal role in managing day-to-day supplier performance and driving long-term operational excellence across Maersk’s inland delivery network. The role focuses on managing strategic vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with Maersk standards, and supporting the delivery of business outcomes such as on-time performance, cost efficiency, data visibility, and digital integration. This is a key individual contributor role within the Vendor & Supplier Management stream, where emphasis is placed on subject matter expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of vendor related outcomes including sourcing, onboarding, performance tracking and compliance.


 


 

Job Responsibilities:


 

Vendor Performance & Compliance

  • Monitor service quality (e.g., On-Time Delivery, data exchange, digital visibility) across all modes and vendors
  • Drive compliance of vendors to Maersk standards including invoice control, digital integration, system use, and payment policies
  • Lead vendor onboarding processes, is my data OK ensuring alignment to global policies, local regulations, and operational systems
  • Address vendor non-compliance and take corrective actions in coordination with Procurement, Delivery, and Finance teams
  • Ensure vendor allocation aligns with product and procurement directives


 

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (Procurement, CX, HSSE, Finance, Product) to ensure mutual obligations and expectations are met
  • Provide market insights and vendor feedback to improve sourcing strategy and supplier relationship management
  • Contribute to supplier audits and ensure vendor readiness for Maersk’s digital and operational transformation


 

Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report on vendor KPIs including NPS, SLA compliance, visibility adoption, data exchange standards, and payment timeliness
  • Support development of business continuity plans and promote resilience across the supplier network
  • Contribute to performance management of the vendor operations team and collaborate with analysts to improve data-driven decision-making


 

Critical Competencies

  • Strong background in Vendor Management or Procurement Operations
  • High sense of urgency and ownership
  • Atleast 7-8 years of experience in the related field
  • Solid understanding of local market dynamics and logistics environment
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed organization with multiple internal and external dependencies
  • Business acumen and ability to convert operational challenges into opportunities
