Virtual Medical Scheduler

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Virtual Medical Scheduler to support a healthcare practice remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing provider calendars, and ensuring a smooth scheduling experience for both patients and medical staff.

This is a fully remote role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Working Hours

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST
• Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments
• Manage provider calendars and optimize appointment slots
• Handle inbound and outbound calls related to scheduling
• Verify patient information and update records in the system
• Coordinate with medical staff regarding availability and urgent appointments
• Send reminders and follow-ups to patients
• Ensure compliance with healthcare scheduling protocols and confidentiality standards
• Maintain accurate scheduling records

Requirements

• Previous experience as a medical scheduler, virtual assistant, or healthcare coordinator preferred
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems is a plus
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of appointments
• Reliable internet connection and quiet work environment
• Comfortable working in EST time zone

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with US-based healthcare providers
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience handling insurance verification or patient intake
