The Department of Surgery provides comprehensive and sub-specialty care in the areas of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dental-Oral, Maxillo-facial Surgery, General Surgery, Breast Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology and Vascular Surgery. The Department has 114 full-time and part-time faculty with a strong commitment to teaching and research. Formal structured undergraduate teaching, postgraduate residency, and fellowship programs are integrated into the academic functions of the department.

Aga Khan University Hospital invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager, Clinical Services – Surgery Department.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Manager, Clinical Services, will support the department in the operational, financial, and budget initiatives within the Department of Surgery. The incumbent will ensure smooth administrative processes, oversee BVR monthly, initiate clinical packages, coordinate with the Purchase team for clinical equipment requirements, and facilitate various departmental programs. The role requires collaboration with faculty, section heads, and administrative teams to enhance clinical efficiency, maintain quality standards, and optimize patient care services.

You will be responsible to:

  • Prepares necessary budget documentation and takes proactive and corrective measures in collaboration with manager if performance is not met against the standard.
  • Analyze monthly volume and revenue trends, generate sectional financial reports, approves expenditures (MSRs/PRs).and compare them to budget ledgers.
  • Share financial reports with departmental leadership and liaise with stakeholders for costing preparation.
  • Compile and analyze monthly data on admissions, discharges, and complaint handling, and perform other data-related tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Manage departmental HR functions, including recruitment, credentialing and evaluations in coordination with the departmental manager/Supervisor
  • Manage quality assurance initiatives, including audits and gap analysis under direct supervision of managers for continuous improvement.

Requirements

You should have:

  • Masters degree in business administration, health administration, or an equivalent field from a reputed university.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in health care administration
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality standards, including JCIA.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools.
  • Positive attitude and ready to accept change.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
