Aisha Steel Mill Limited in Karachi, Pakistan is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Taxation to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of tax law and compliance, along with strong analytical skills to effectively manage tax-related responsibilities. This role demands expertise in regulatory reporting and tax audit methodologies. The Assistant Manager will oversee a team of two individuals, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to compliance standards. The successful candidate will be tasked with navigating complex tax regulations while safeguarding the companys financial interests through strategic risk management practices. This position is pivotal in enhancing our operational efficiency in taxation while maintaining the integrity of our financial practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily activities of the taxation team, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tax-related tasks.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the companys financial objectives and comply with local tax laws and regulations.
• Manage the preparation and filing of all tax returns and regulatory reporting requirements in accordance with deadlines.
• Conduct thorough tax compliance reviews and audits, identifying any discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on potential impacts to the organizations financial position.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address tax-related matters and provide expert guidance on tax implications of various business transactions.
• Analyze financial data using Microsoft Excel to assess tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.
• Identify and manage risks related to tax regulations and compliance, developing action plans to mitigate identified risks.
• Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance their knowledge of tax law and compliance practices, ensuring continuous improvement in performance.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing tax-related activities and strategic recommendations.
