Senior Unix/Linux System Administrator

Systems Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Unix/Linux System Administrator with 8–10 years of experience in managing and supporting enterprise-level systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Unix Administration (Solaris, AIX, Linux-Debian), SysOps, and advanced knowledge of kernel, file systems, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Unix/Linux servers (Solaris, AIX, Debian) ensuring high availability and performance.
• Perform kernel tuning, file system management, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies across multiple platforms.
• Provide SysOps support for mission-critical applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support enterprise solutions.
• Ensure compliance with IT security standards and best practices.
• Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Document processes, configurations, and system changes for knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities:

• 8–10 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Hands-on expertise with Solaris, AIX, and Debian-based Linux distributions.
• Strong knowledge of kernel internals, file systems, and system architecture.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.) for automation and administration.
• Experience with SysOps practices in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, etc.).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and provide root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
