Job Overview:

GTV NEWS HD is seeking a skilled and creative Non-Linear Editor to join our Programming Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in video editing for current affairs programs, infotainment shows, and long-form content. As a Non-Linear Editor, you will be responsible for transforming raw footage into engaging, high-quality programming that aligns with our editorial vision and audience expectations. You will play a key role in shaping the narrative and visual style of our shows, ensuring they are both informative and entertaining.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Editing for Programming:

Edit raw footage for current affairs programs, infotainment shows, documentaries, and special features using non-linear editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve).
Craft compelling narratives by selecting the best shots, arranging sequences, and applying transitions, graphics, and effects.
Sync audio with video, ensuring high-quality sound design and mixing for a polished final product.
Collaborate with producers and directors to ensure the final edit aligns with the show’s creative vision and editorial standards.
Technical Expertise:

Handle complex editing tasks, including multi-camera edits, color correction, and audio enhancement.
Ensure all content meets broadcast-quality standards and technical specifications.
Stay updated on the latest editing techniques, software updates, and industry trends.
Collaboration with Teams:

Work closely with producers, directors, and the programming team to deliver content on time and within budget.
Participate in creative discussions to brainstorm ideas for show segments, graphics, and visual storytelling.
Provide support during live or on-location shoots, if required.
Archiving and Organization:

Manage and organize media assets, ensuring easy access to footage, graphics, and audio files for future use.
Maintain a well-structured archive of completed projects and raw materials.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Non-Linear Editing Software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve.
Experience in Long-Form Content Editing: Demonstrated ability to edit current affairs programs, infotainment shows, or documentaries.
Creative Storytelling: Strong sense of pacing, narrative structure, and visual storytelling.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of color grading, audio mixing, and multi-camera editing techniques.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high editorial and technical standards under tight deadlines.
Time Management: Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering quality work on schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 2-3 years of experience in video editing, preferably in a broadcast or production environment.
Familiarity with broadcast standards and technical requirements for TV programming.
Experience working on current affairs or infotainment programming is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of motion graphics (e.g., Adobe After Effects) is a plus.
