Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the financial health of the organization. This role involves overseeing accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with other departments to optimize financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management for decision-making.
2. Accounting Operations Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Manage the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
- Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes.
3. Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements
- Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes.
4. Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Monitor expenditures and provide recommendations for cost control.
5. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning and strategy.
- Communicate financial insights to stakeholders and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 years in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
Work Environment:
- Office-based role with occasional travel for audits or meetings.
