As the Video Editor for Short Form and Repurposing, you will own platform optimized editing for short form content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and similar channels. You will deliver fast, clear, and engaging edits by applying strong hook logic, pacing discipline, and format awareness. In addition to execution, you will operate with higher independence through self QA, proactive communication, and contribution to repeatable repurposing systems. You will also maintain strict task updates and delivery reliability, while continuously learning and applying new short form formats and editing techniques.
1. Short Form Video Editing and Platform Optimization
- Edit and assemble raw video footage into visually engaging and shareable content.
- Create short form video content tailored to platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Optimize videos for different screen sizes, aspect ratios, safe zones, and platform specifications.
- Apply hooks, pacing, captions, and visual cues aligned with platform viewing behavior.
2. Repurposing and Content Scaling
- Convert long form footage into multiple short form assets while preserving clarity and context.
- Create cut-downs and variations when needed, such as multiple hooks or multiple pacing options.
- Suggest improvements to repurposing structures and workflows to increase output efficiency.
3. Collaboration and Cross Functional Support
- Collaborate with content creators and marketing teams to understand project goals, audience, and intended outcomes.
- Clarify requirements before editing to reduce back and forth and rework.
- Coordinate early on dependencies like missing assets, captions, references, or brand guidelines.
4. Quality Ownership & Self-Approval
- Ensure all video and graphic content meets technical standards and brand guidelines before submission.
- Take full responsibility for the visual and technical quality of assigned deliverables.
- Proactively flag unclear requirements or quality risks early, before delivery.
5. Asset Management, Version Control, and Process Discipline
- Organize and maintain a library of video and graphic assets for easy retrieval and version control.
- Maintain structured project folders, naming conventions, exports, and backups on the shared drive.
- Follow Zoho task discipline and documentation requirements for every status change.
6. Tools, Innovation, and Design Trends
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and best practices in motion design and video editing.
- Use editing and motion tools efficiently, including shortcuts, presets, and workflow improvements where applicable.
- Experiment responsibly with new styles and approaches to elevate creative output.
7. Time Management and Delivery Discipline
- Manage project priorities efficiently, ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- Track and update task progress regularly in Zoho Projects with accurate statuses and notes.
- Communicate potential delivery risks, blockers, or scope concerns early and coordinate with PMs to maintain delivery consistency.
8. Learning Curve and New Implementation
- Build new skills continuously across any area that improves personal effectiveness or team output.
- Implement new skills in real client deliverables or internal systems, not only in practice work.
- Maintain a simple monthly record of what was learned and where it was applied, with 1 to 3 examples per month.
- Share relevant learnings, templates, tools, or workflows with the creative team when they improve speed, quality, consistency, or collaboration.
