Fulcrum Pvt Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Taxation Executive to join our team on a contractual basis in the fast-moving consumer goods sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in tax compliance and reporting, with the ability to handle multiple tax-related responsibilities efficiently. Positioned in Karachi, Pakistan, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to the companys tax operations by ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks and accurate filings. The executive is expected to have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably within the FMCG industry, and a bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline. This role reports to the finance leadership without direct team management responsibilities but requires effective coordination and communication with various internal departments and external vendors. This one-year contractual position demands dedication to maintaining compliance with tax laws, employing tax software proficiently, and supporting the filing and reporting processes across multiple tax authorities including the Federal Board of Revenue, Punjab Revenue Authority, and Sindh Revenue Board. The taxation executive will play a pivotal role in validating documentation, reconciling input taxes, and collaborating with distributors to ensure complete and timely sales return submissions. Responsibilities
 

  • Assist in preparing and filing monthly sales tax returns with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), and Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) promptly and accurately.
  • Support the process of submitting weekly advance tax payments and quarterly tax statements, ensuring adherence to applicable deadlines and regulations.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain exemption certificates from vendors to ensure compliance with tax exemption requirements and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Validate the active or inactive registration status of vendors and customers with FBR, PRA, and SRB to guarantee accurate tax reporting and compliance.
  • Coordinate directly with distributors to upload sales return data on the FBR portal, facilitating smooth processing and reporting of sales tax.
  • Perform input tax reconciliation by reviewing and reconciling input tax ledgers to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies in tax credits.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all applicable tax regulations and company policies by monitoring changes in tax laws and implementing necessary adjustments promptly.
  • Ensure all tax filings and reports are prepared with high levels of accuracy and submitted within established timelines to avoid any penalties or legal issues.
  • Collaborate with internal finance teams and external tax consultants to streamline tax processes and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Provide assistance in preparing documents and reports for tax audits or inspections conducted by relevant authorities to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in tax legislation and tax technology tools to enhance efficiency in tax compliance activities.
  • Perform other tax-related duties as assigned by the management to support the overall financial health and regulatory compliance of the company.
