Accounting Trainee

The Perseus Operating Group, a division of Constellation Software, is currently looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Trainee to join its Karachi team. This paid, three-month trainee program offers practical experience in accounting practices within the software and service industry, with the potential for full-time employment based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
Perform daily bank reconciliations for all North American businesses under the Perseus Group using Microsoft Great Plains. Assist senior accountants with various accounting tasks such as posting journal entries and conducting monthly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Participate in special projects including process improvements and ad hoc assignments, such as compiling data using the Jedox corporate reporting tool. Monitor and audit transactions to identify any fraudulent activities. Develop a solid understanding of accounting processes that impact the Business Unit and Financial Statements. Collaborate closely with team members to learn and apply current accounting practices relevant to the software and service sectors.

Required Qualifications
Candidates should be finalists or part-qualified in a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAP, or an equivalent, or hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, including accounts payable and receivable, is essential. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records accurately. Strong data entry skills and a natural aptitude for working with numbers are required. Familiarity with ERP systems and proprietary accounting software, preferably Microsoft Great Plains, is highly desirable. Proficiency in English communication and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is necessary. Exceptional attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively are also important.
