We are looking for a committed Store Manager to lead daily operations at our retail location, ensuring high standards of hygiene, store presentation, and exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will oversee staff adherence to grooming and uniform policies, maintain store cleanliness, manage inventory effectively, and drive sales growth. This role demands strong leadership, keen attention to detail, and a customer-centric mindset to create a positive shopping environment and meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Hygiene & Presentation:
Ensure all team members follow uniform, grooming, and hygiene guidelines, including standards for hair, nails, and body odor. Conduct regular inspections of the store’s cleanliness, focusing on floors, shelves, and product displays both morning and evening. Supervise the maintenance of company assets such as the pantry to guarantee they remain in good condition.
Daily Operations:
Prepare the store to open by 8:00 AM each day, overseeing cashier setup and confirming receipt roll availability. Maintain accurate documentation including Daily Sales Reports (DSR), petty cash records, and Google Sheets. Complete closing procedures by updating checklists and submitting daily store photographs. Ensure compliance with the company’s operation manual and update checklists as necessary.
Stock & Inventory Management:
Coordinate timely stock orders and enforce the FIFO (First In, First Out) system. Perform daily quality checks on fresh produce and packaged goods, including herbs like basil, kale, and rocket. Monitor wastage and submit expiry reports on the 5th and 20th of each month. Manage supplier returns and maintain Goods Received Return Notes (GRRN). Track inventory variances and oversee wastage performance.
Customer Service & Team Training:
Lead daily team briefings and product training to improve staff knowledge and performance. Promote customer loyalty programs and emphasize the Focus Area of the Week (FAOTW). Foster strong customer relationships by delivering outstanding service and addressing customer feedback to maintain high satisfaction ratings.
Sales & Performance Management:
Meet daily sales targets while achieving a consistent 1.5% month-over-month increase in transactions and maintaining an average basket value of Rs. 25/-. Monitor key performance indicators such as Net Loss Cost (NLC) percentage, Loss Cost (LC) percentage, and CAP counts related to errors and discounts.
Administrative & Reporting Duties:
Ensure timely submission of DSR, Daily Closing Sheets (DCS), and petty cash files with proper handovers. Keep accurate and updated records, including signed reports and reconciliation documents. Organize and maintain bank discount files with required signatures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in retail or store management
- Proven leadership ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Excel and Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Customer-focused with a passion for service excellence
- Age between 45 to 50 years
