Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions.
Ensure accuracy and compliance of documents as per destination country requirements.
Liaise with suppliers, buyers, and transporters for timely submission of shipping documents.
Maintain records and filing systems for all documentation (digital and physical).
Customs Clearance:
Coordinate with customs brokers and government authorities for import/export clearances.
Monitor shipment status to ensure prompt clearance at ports and borders.
Ensure all customs duties, taxes, and levies are calculated and paid on time.
Stay updated on changes in customs laws, tariffs, and trade agreements.
Coordination and Communication:
Communicate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, CHA (Customs House Agents), and internal teams for timely movement and release of goods.
Resolve queries from customs or any other regulatory authority promptly.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, including INCOTERMS, DG handling, HS codes, and export control regulations.
Maintain documentation for internal and external audits.
Generate reports on shipment status, documentation cycles, and cost optimization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in import/export operations and customs clearance.
Knowledge of EXIM policies, customs regulations, and international shipping practices.
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and customs clearance portals (ICEGATE, DGFT portal, etc.).
