OVERVIEW:

 

We are seeking a proactive and ambitious Business Development Officer to join our team.
Your primary duties will be to create and deliver on new business strategies to boost 31G’s revenue. Your primary duties will include maintaining relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities and creating business forecasts.


The ideal candidate should possess exceptional English communication skills, excellent social media skills with demonstrable experience in winning business using social media platforms. You will have proficient research capabilities and showcase a strong aptitude for engaging with prospects via a multichannel approach including LinkedIn, email and phone.


This role primarily involves identifying and securing new clients and business opportunities, developing relationships and leveraging our leadership team to secure new business with leads that you have already warmed up.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Producing new business development strategies and plans to help secure new business for 31G – these are sales and marketing strategies
Conducting continuous and thorough market research to identify potential business opportunities and via targetted strategies
Utilizing excellent communication skills to engage new prospective business through a multichannel approach including LinkedIn, email campaigns, warm/cold emails and phone calls
Strategically approach and initiate conversations with potential clients to introduce our services and products
Setting up and coordinating meetings between potential clients and 31G leadership
Maintaining accurate records of interactions and follow-ups using CRM software
Developing and maintaining relationships with business stakeholders, including clients, partners or vendors – ensuring continued schedule of follow-up activity with prospective clients
Supporting events and initiatives to drive new business
Training other business development staff in the organisation, where appropriate
Attending conferences and events on behalf of the business, where required


REQUIREMENTS:

 

Graduate with a focus on business administration, economics, marketing or a related field
2-3 years’ experience in a similar position – this could have been acquired through internships, apprenticeships or work experience programmes
Prior experience in a sales or marketing role is also acceptable
Experience in finding business deals and partnerships, acquiring new clients and creating strategies is required
Experience with leveraging social media platforms and email campaigns to develop new business
In-depth understanding of business management and operation
Proficiency in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong research capabilities and the ability to extract valuable insights from data
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and build relationships with prospects
Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset
Familiarity with CRM softwares
Excellent organisation and project management skills
Strong attention to detail
Problem-solving and Numeracy skills
