Job Summary

The Manager – Accounts & Finance is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, taxation, and compliance. The role ensures accurate financial records, effective financial controls, and supports management in strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial records in compliance with accounting standards
  • Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and balance sheet accounts

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management

Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accounting regulations
  • Manage tax filings (income tax, GST/VAT, TDS/withholding tax, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and fund utilization
  • Manage banking relationships and credit facilities
  • Ensure timely collections and payments

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and supervise the accounts and finance team
  • Assign tasks, review work, and provide guidance and training
  • Coordinate with other departments on financial matters

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • Professional certification (part qualified)

Experience

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance
  • Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation laws
  • Proficiency in accounting softwares
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis skills

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Leadership and team management skills

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports
  • Budget adherence and cost control
