The Manager – Import Planning will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the import operations to ensure materials are available on time, supporting production schedules and overall business objectives. This role requires a strategic mindset combined with strong analytical skills to forecast import needs accurately. The manager will work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to ensure smooth shipments while maintaining cost efficiency and strict compliance with import regulations. Effective coordination across various internal teams is essential to streamline processes and uphold high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead import planning activities to ensure timely availability of materials aligned with production requirements.
- Develop precise import forecasts that support production plans and inventory management goals.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents to facilitate efficient and timely shipments.
- Design and implement cost-effective import strategies to enhance supply chain performance and reduce delays.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations, including accurate HS code classification and customs duty payments.
- Manage import documentation processes, track shipments, and monitor vendor performance to maintain service quality.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in import planning or supply chain management with a focus on import operations.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import documentation requirements.
- Excellent analytical and strategic planning abilities to forecast and manage import demands effectively.
- Proven ability to coordinate and communicate with multiple stakeholders, including suppliers and logistics partners.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to compliance, accuracy, and process integrity.
This is a full-time position requiring in-person attendance. The salary range for this role is between Rs 200,000 and Rs 250,000 per month.
