Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), a premier not-for-profit healthcare institution in Pakistan, is inviting applications for the position of Non Full Time Consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. The Department of Ophthalmology offers subspecialized, multidisciplinary care and actively supports academic programs including an ophthalmology residency, vitreoretinal fellowship, and allied health training, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver ophthalmology clinical services in accordance with scheduled appointments.
- Provide thorough clinical care within the scope of the candidate’s fellowship training.
- Collaborate with colleagues and refer patients to appropriate specialists within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
- Participate in clinical activities under a revenue-sharing model governed by a one-year renewable contract.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of postgraduate qualifications such as FCPS, FRCS, FRC Ophth, American Board, or an equivalent certification.
- Possession of a valid license to practice from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- A minimum of 3 to 4 years of clinical experience as an independently practicing ophthalmologist at a reputable healthcare institution.
- Proven commitment to professional ethics, teamwork, and collaborative practice.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and critically.
- Willingness to undergo comprehensive employment reference checks.
