Pattern Maker – Pakistani Women's Fashion

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our growing fashion team in Karachi. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing patterns for Pakistani women's apparel, including luxury pret, formal wear, kaftans, kurtas, co-ord sets, and occasion wear. This role requires a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create accurate first patterns
  • Develop patterns for a variety of silhouettes, including eastern and fusion wear.
  • Produce patterns for garments such as:
  • Kurtas and kameez
  • Kaftans
  • Shalwar suits
  • Co-ord sets
  • Dresses and gowns
  • Conduct pattern corrections and modifications following fit sessions.
  • Develop graded size sets according to company sizing standards.
  • Create marker layouts to optimize fabric utilization.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, sample tailors, and production teams.
  • Ensure all patterns are production-ready and maintain consistent fit standards.
  • Review sample garments and identify necessary pattern adjustments.
  • Maintain organized pattern archives and technical documentation.
  • Assist with fabric consumption calculations and production specifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Pattern Maker in women's fashion.
  • Strong experience with Pakistani and modest-wear silhouettes.
  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction, draping, and fitting techniques.
  • Ability to translate design concepts into production-ready patterns.
  • Experience working with woven fabrics, silk, chiffon, lawn, cotton, linen, jacquard, and embroidered textiles.
  • Knowledge of grading and size development.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with luxury pret, formal wear, and bridal collections.
  • Knowledge of CAD pattern-making software (Gerber, Lectra, Tukatech, or similar).
  • Understanding of fabric shrinkage, drape, and garment finishing requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with production units and sample rooms.
