Role Description The Senior Program Manager (Bank only) will oversee complex, multi-stream digital banking programs, ensuring successful delivery in line with client objectives, regulatory requirements, and Avanza’s quality standards. This contract, remote role involves leading cross-functional teams, managing program scope, timelines, budgets, and risks, and coordinating with banking clients, technology teams, and internal stakeholders. The Senior Program Manager will translate business needs into program plans, define governance frameworks, and track progress through regular status reporting and executive updates. Day-to-day responsibilities include prioritizing initiatives, resolving dependencies, aligning resources, guiding change management activities, and driving continuous improvement across all program phases.
Qualifications
 

• Program and project leadership skills, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering large-scale digital banking programs.
• Banking domain expertise, with strong knowledge of digital banking platforms, regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and core banking processes.
• Strategic planning and governance skills, including defining program roadmaps, establishing governance structures, managing budgets, and overseeing risk and issue management.
• Stakeholder and communication skills, such as coordinating with senior client stakeholders, facilitating meetings and workshops, and producing clear program documentation and reports.
• Technical and analytical skills, including familiarity with digital platforms, integration projects, data-driven decision-making, and collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Change management and delivery skills, such as driving adoption of new solutions, aligning operational processes, and supporting training and transition activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, contract capacity, demonstrating high levels of accountability, self-organization, and collaboration across time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Prince2, Agile/Scrum) are an advantage.
• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in program or project management, preferably within banking or financial services and digital transformation initiatives.
