Industrial Chemist

Mijokum Private Limited is seeking a hardworking and collaborative Industrial Chemist to oversee the smooth operation of the laboratory and production processes at our chemical manufacturing facility in Korangi, Karachi. This role requires an experienced professional with at least eight years of hands-on experience in industrial chemistry and chemical manufacturing. The Industrial Chemist will lead a dedicated team of three persons, ensuring adherence to chemical safety standards and quality control throughout production. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in analytical chemistry, process optimization, and laboratory instrumentation, coupled with the ability to troubleshoot production issues efficiently and communicate findings effectively to management. The Industrial Chemist plays a critical role in raw material and finished product testing while maintaining chemical safety compliance and supporting pilot production activities. The successful candidate will develop and implement laboratory procedures, optimize chemical processes for efficiency, and ensure consistent product quality. This position demands excellent organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departments, and a proactive approach to solving production challenges. Responsibilities
 

• Lead and manage a team of three laboratory and production staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
• Conduct comprehensive raw material and finished product testing using analytical chemistry techniques to guarantee compliance with quality standards.
• Implement and maintain strict chemical safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment across laboratory and production areas.
• Optimize chemical processes and production methods to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate pilot production activities and scale-up processes while monitoring outcomes and making necessary adjustments.
• Perform troubleshooting during production runs to quickly identify and resolve issues affecting product quality or process stability.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensuring all equipment is calibrated, clean, and functioning correctly.
• Compile detailed reports on laboratory results, production data, and process improvements for presentation to management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align laboratory activities with production schedules and company objectives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all chemical testing and production methods in line with industry standards.
• Develop documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain records for audits and continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor team members to raise skill levels and promote adherence to best practices in laboratory and production environments.
