Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Lifting Equipment Inspector located in Karachi. The primary responsibilities include inspecting, testing, and certifying various lifting equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. The role involves reporting findings, preparing detailed inspection reports, and advising on maintenance and safety improvements. This position requires collaboration with technical teams and consistent communication with clients while maintaining strict adherence to quality and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Technical Duties

• Perform inspection, examination, and testing of lifting equipment including:
• Mobile Cranes
• Tower Cranes
• Overhead Cranes
• Forklifts
• Hoists, Winches, and Chain Blocks
• Lifting Accessories (slings, shackles, hooks, eyebolts, spreader beams, etc.)
• Conduct thorough examinations in line with:
• LEEA Codes of Practice
• ISO / BS / ASME standards
• Local statutory and client requirements
• Carry out pre-use, periodic, and load testing inspections.
• Identify defects, non-conformities, and safety hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify lifting plans, load charts, certificates, and equipment documentation.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports, certificates, and checklists.
• Ensure timely submission of inspection findings to clients and internal systems.
• Maintain inspection records in accordance with TÜV Austria quality procedures.
• Support audits and technical reviews when required.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all inspections comply with HSE, statutory, and client safety requirements.
• Promote safe lifting practices at client sites.
• Act as a technical advisor to clients on lifting equipment safety and compliance.

Client & Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, site representatives, and internal operations teams.
• Provide professional technical guidance to customers when required.
• Represent TÜV Austria professionally at all client locations.

Mandatory Qualifications & Certifications

Candidates must possess the following LEEA certifications:

• ✅ Level 1: LEEA Foundation Certificate
• (FOU / FOUG / FOUS)
• ✅ Level 2: Lifting Equipment General Advanced Programme (LEG)
• ✅ Level 8: Mobile Crane Examination – Advanced Programme

Note: Candidates without the above LEEA certifications will not be considered.

Education & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field (preferred).
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on inspection experience with lifting equipment.
• Strong exposure to industrial, construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:
• Lifting equipment mechanics and load calculations
• Crane structures, hydraulics, wire ropes, and safety systems
• Knowledge of international standards (ISO, BS, ASME, LOLER where applicable).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and load charts.
• Familiarity with inspection tools and testing equipment.
