The QA Officer – Blood Banking ensures laboratory processes meet quality control standards by monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality management system (QMS). They ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, SOPs, and best practices, work with staff to identify improvement areas, conduct audits, and maintain QA documentation.
QMS Management: Oversee the blood bank’s quality system, ensuring compliance with regulatory and AABB accreditation standards.
Audits: Conduct internal audits, identify issues, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, federal, and AABB regulations; prepare for inspections.
Quality Control: Monitor blood bank processes, equipment, and performance metrics for compliance.
Training: Provide training to staff on QA protocols, SOPs, and AABB standards.
Documentation: Maintain records of audits, corrective actions, and quality assurance activities.
Incident Management: Address errors or non-conformances and implement corrective measures.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process and quality improvements within the blood bank.
Education
BS MLT, Preferred Masters in Science or a related field.
