Research Associate, Paediatrics & Child Health -MC - (260003TA)

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• Administer Assessments: Execute standardized cognitive, behavioral, and basic physical neurological assessment protocols in strict adherence to project guidelines
• Pediatric Engagement: Interact patiently and effectively with 4 to 5-year-old children to ensure compliance and comfort during the evaluation process
• Data Management: Accurately score assessments, document clinical observations, and log findings into the project database
• Protocol Compliance: Follow research scripts and clinical methodologies precisely to maintain data integrity and prevent deviations
• Team Collaboration: Work dynamically with the core research team, participating in regular progress meetings and data reviews.

Requirement

You should have:

• MBBS from a recognized institution. Foundational medical knowledge is essential for this role.
• Fresh graduates or 01 year of experience candidate in clinical research or paediatric care will be preferred
• Ability to work in a team
• Sound understanding of basic neurological examinations (e.g., motor skills, reflexes, milestone tracking) and pediatric development.
• Exceptional patience, strong communication skills, and the professional maturity required to manage young children in a testing environment
• Eagerness to learn new methodologies and adapt to international scientific standards
