Job Description

This role involves managing and supporting job scheduler administration and day-to-day operations within a data center environment. The candidate will oversee managed file transfer tools and ensure smooth automation of data center activities. Timely identification and reporting of production issues, along with impact analysis and resolution, are critical. The position requires close collaboration with various internal teams to maintain uninterrupted services and support business continuity testing.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support job scheduler administration and business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
- Administer managed file transfer tools and oversee their daily operations.
- Automate data center operations tasks, ensuring processes include exception handling and controlled rerun capabilities to minimize risk.
- Conduct thorough testing and implement controls for file transfer requirements across multiple applications.
- Ensure pre- and post-validation processes are followed during production deployments and support activities.
- Maintain high availability of supporting applications across primary and secondary sites to guarantee uninterrupted service.
- Support business continuity testing initiatives across the organization.
- Track and manage data center operations service tickets effectively.
- Monitor application batch jobs according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), escalating and documenting issues as necessary.
- Escalate and record system, application, and batch-related problems, coordinating with various internal teams.
- Monitor alerts from enterprise monitoring systems and respond promptly.
- Liaise with infrastructure owners, application owners, and vendors to provide support on a 24x7 rotational shift basis.
- Deploy approved changes across various infrastructure platforms.
- Ensure all incidents are escalated, recorded, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in data center operations and application deployment.
- Strong knowledge of workload automation and scheduler tools, particularly Automic.
- Proficient in managed file transfer tools such as GoAnywhere and Connect:Direct.
- Solid understanding of Windows and Unix operating systems.
- Good grasp of networking concepts and administration.
- Experience working with Oracle and SQL database platforms.
- Basic understanding of business application concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, coordination, and reporting within complex IT environments.
