Firmware Engineer – Bluetooth Mesh Networking (Reverse Engineering + Development)

🧠 About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer with expertise in Bluetooth Mesh Networking and reverse engineering to help us develop and integrate a custom firmware solution for a decorative RGB lighting controller used in the U.S. market.

This role involves reverse engineering an existing leading-edge Bluetooth mesh lighting controller, developing a scalable and low-latency mesh communication platform, and supporting its integration into our proprietary light controller system. You can view an example of our product line here:

🚀 Key Responsibilities:

Reverse engineer an existing Bluetooth mesh firmware platform currently used in lighting control systems.
Develop new custom firmware supporting: 
Synchronized RGB lighting control
Efficient Bluetooth mesh topology
Low-latency communication between lighting devices
Support for a wide range of lighting configurations
Work closely with our internal hardware and software teams to integrate the firmware into our upcoming light controller systems.
Optimize system performance for scalability, energy efficiency, and real-time responsiveness.
Ensure clean, well-documented, and modular firmware codebase for future maintenance.
Provide lifecycle maintenance and updates post-deployment.

🎯 Desired Experience:

Proven experience in firmware development for Bluetooth Mesh networks (e.g., lighting, IoT, wearables)
Strong background in reverse engineering embedded systems/firmware
Proficiency with C/C++ for embedded platforms
Experience with custom firmware development for lighting or similar RF-based control systems
Familiarity with BLE SoCs (e.g., Nordic nRF52, Dialog, TI) and relevant SDKs
Understanding of mesh networking principles: provisioning, relay nodes, low power nodes, etc.
Experience working with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers is a plus
Familiarity with wireless protocols, timing precision, and multi-device synchronization

This will be a long-term engagement, starting with development and followed by ongoing support and maintenance during the system’s lifecycle.
