Optometrist (Pediatric Eye Care)

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC), established in 1956, is dedicated to providing free-of-charge healthcare services to underserved communities in Pakistan. MALC's focus areas include the control of leprosy, tuberculosis, and blindness, along with community-based inclusive development for individuals with disabilities and maternal and child healthcare services. Role Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate optometrist with additional skills in pediatric eye care/orthoptics to join our healthcare team and provide specialized eye care services for infants, children, and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric eye examinations and vision assessments
• Diagnose and manage visual disorders, refractive errors, and binocular vision problems in children
• Prescribe corrective lenses and treatment plans tailored to pediatric patients
• Detect early signs of ocular diseases and developmental vision issues
• Educate parents and caregivers on children’s eye health and preventive care
• Collaborate with pediatricians, ophthalmologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Vision Science (BVS) (HEC Verified) in Child Eye Care Orthoptics.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience
• Strong knowledge of pediatric vision care and child-friendly examination techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and families
