The Role:

We are looking for a practical and organized individual to assist in developing premium decorative lighting products by producing 3D-printed components and physical prototypes. The role involves operating a 3D printer, preparing samples, taking measurements, documenting experiments, and coordinating with workshop teams and external finishing suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate an FDM 3D printer after machine-specific training.
• Prepare print jobs using slicing software and configure settings, orientation, and supports.
• Identify common printing defects and conduct trials to improve print quality.
• Measure printed components using calipers and verify fit with other parts.
• Maintain records of design files, print settings, materials, time, costs, and results.
• Photograph samples and document technical issues with accurate measurements.
• Coordinate fabrication tasks with the metal workshop and finishing trials with external suppliers.
• Maintain organized tools, materials, and workspace while following safety procedures.
• Use AI-assisted instructions and design tools to support prototyping and R&D activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Interest in making, repairing, assembling, or testing physical objects.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software.
• Attention to detail, measurements, and following technical instructions.
• Strong organization, reliability, documentation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to travel between the office, workshop, and suppliers when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with 3D printing, CAD, electronics, model-making, or workshop fabrication.
• Basic CAD editing skills.
• Technical diploma or relevant qualification.

Machine-specific training will be provided. Demonstrated practical ability is more important than formal qualifications.
 

Success Criteria:

• Produce consistent and accurate 3D-printed samples.
• Identify and clearly report printing defects and component-fitting issues.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, materials, and results.
• Coordinate effectively across printing, fabrication, and finishing processes.
