Job Title: Assistant Manager

Department: Human Resources

 

Qualification: Master's degree (18 years of education) in Human Resources or a related field. Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) will be an added advantage.

 

Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or specialist HR role. Experience in the higher education sector or a reputable organization will be preferred.

 

Role Overview: The Assistant Manager – HR will support the execution of HR operations and contribute to strategic HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, regulatory requirements, and modern HR best practices. The role requires a balance of operational efficiency, employee engagement, and process improvement. Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems will be preferred.

 


Responsibilities
 

  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, promotion, transfers, and separation.
  • Ensure timely issuance of HR documentation (contracts, letters, warnings, etc.) with standardization and compliance.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate employee records (digital and physical) in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Support development and implementation of HR policies in line with best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, labor laws, and employee-related obligations.
  • Coordinate and manage performance appraisal cycle, ensuring timely completion, fairness, and alignment with institutional frameworks, while supporting rating calibration and liaising with Finance for accurate implementation of merit increments.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries and grievances, ensuring timely resolution, and support employee engagement initiatives including orientations and organizational events.
  • Administer ERP and Digital Attendance Register (DAR) systems for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports (attendance, turnover, headcount) to support decision-making, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection standards.
  • Coordinate training programs, workshops, and development initiatives.
  • Maintain and update HR-related content on the university website and internal communication platforms, and perform any other tasks as assigned by SZABIST University management.
